Grade exams & associated prep class - booking exam is confirming you read and abide with rules noted in the description.
These bookings are for current Blarney Cork Dance Academy dancers only.
Only those ready to grade will be invited to do so.
Exam Date 24th of July 2022.
Fees cover exam entry and final prep class only.
Only dancers who attend regular classes may take exams. At minimum a 33.33% attendance of classes from April to July (ie minimum of every third class).
Only dancers whose term and exam payments are fully paid may take part in grade
exams.
We only run exams when enough interest to cover the costs. As exams are pre planned 3 months in advance and judge/hall/costs already incurred, no refunds for pulling out of exams.
It is up to each dancer to practice enough to reach their grade exam level. Steps will be taught in class. It will require adequate practice. With over 3 months notice, each dancer is required to put in enough practice to reach the competence level required for the grade. Only practice in class is not enough, you have to put in the time! Should you not reach the required level by the final prep class, you will not be permitted to take the exam and your fee will be forfeited.
Required for exams - BDA/CDA embroidered logo top, comfy shorts/leggings/skirt, tights/poodle socks/black socks, correct dance shoes. No class or solo costumes are permitted. If you need to purchase an embroidered top or shoes, please do so now on our shop page. These items may take 3 weeks, sometimes more to be delivered. Orders to be in by June 1st at the latest.
Exams must be done in sequential order from Preliminary/grade 1 to grade 12.
You must have both the cert and marks sheet of each grade before you can progress to the next grade.
Teen/Adult dancers may take up to 3 grade exams at one time from grades 1 to 10.
Grades 11 and 12 must be taken separately.
If you achieve over 70% in the grades 11 & 12, you may be exempt from the practical dance sections of the TCRG professional diploma.
